Jan 12 – Where we gather

For where two or three are gathered together in my name,
there am I in the midst of them.    –Matthew 18:20

Do you realize that as you read this, God is in your midst?

It doesn’t matter where you are, what time you read this or if you are alone or with people.  And it doesn’t matter where I am when I write these, what time you this was written, or whether I’m by myself or have company, we are two.  Since we are two, God is present.  What an awesome God we have.  Giving us this gift of time with Him, together.  The gift of the internet from which we share this making it three or more.  Bet you never thought about that before, that the internet was a blessing with all the ugly you hear about being on it.

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship,
to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
… All the believers were together and had everything in common.
… Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts.
They broke bread in their homes
and ate together with glad and sincere hearts,
praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people.
And the Lord added to their number daily
those who were being saved.               –Acts 2:42-47

God made us to be together.  To encourage one another.  To support each other.  To provide for our community.  To be part of our community.  To be a community.

Life today makes this challenging, living the transient lives we do, family and friends hundreds of miles away.  We’ve lost our sense of community and thus we’re losing our sense of gathering together.  We’re making it easy with today’s reasons (excuses) of kids activities and spouses being of a different faith so we choose none.  We need to reestablish our self in the communities we are in.  Be it a physical neighborhood or an internet blog.

Father, through the gift of this community, let Your Holy Spirit come on me and guide me to the church community I am suppose to be in or validate the I am where I am suppose to be.  Then lead me to the ministries within that community I’m suppose to serve in; but, more importantly, help ensure I make Sunday Worship and study the priority in my life so I can gather with my brothers and sisters.  Where I can be encouraged, lifted up, and taught. Thank you Father for opportunities such as this blog where believers can gather and worship and discuss You.

After a time of rest, it's time to resurrect this blog with a light on prayer and building our own personal prayer garden. A woman of faith, I want to share my personal insights into God and the Gospel in the hopes that these touch another heart, encouraging them to come to Christ.
