Jan 13 – A Life of Many Colors

Today is a personal one.  As I look back at the 49 years God has blessed me with, I am utterly amazed.  Amazed at the blessings He has and continues to give (every one of them, undeserved).  Amazed at the trials that have shaped me since conception.  Amazed at the knowledge that God introduced Himself to me by taking control of me during a time when I was out of control. He made me to do something specific.

Before I shaped you in the womb,
I knew all about you.
Before you saw the light of day,
I had holy plans for you:
A prophet to the nations,
that’s what I had in mind for you.            –Jeremiah 1:5 (NIV)

God shaped Joseph to dream and lead.  But before he could do either fully he had to endure the knowledge that his mother died giving birth to him.  Endure the knowledge that all of his brothers were so jealous of him they willing threw him in a pit and sold him to be a slave of foreigners, was thrown in jail because of a false accusation of rape.  Why did he have to endure all these cruelties?  Simply because if all these things did not come about, Joseph would never have been in jail and placed in a position where his first gift, dream interpretation, would be used to do much good.

As you look back in your life, can you see that what has happened in the past is what shaped you, and while you can’t change the pieces you don’t like, and made you who you are today?  Can you look at the ugliness in your past and see how they molded you?  Can you see how God has molded you, since the womb?

Father, thank you for being the awesome, loving and forgiving God that you are.  Thank you for shaping and molding me and being with me as my life’s journey unfolds.  Let me give you back the devotion you have given me, from even before I was born.

After a time of rest, it's time to resurrect this blog with a light on prayer and building our own personal prayer garden. A woman of faith, I want to share my personal insights into God and the Gospel in the hopes that these touch another heart, encouraging them to come to Christ.
