Feb 6 – God Respects Me

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
before you were born I set you apart;
I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”  Jeremiah 1:5 (NIV)
 “…. I will show my holiness among the Israelites.
I am the Lord, who sets you apart as holy [hallow]….”  Leviticus 22:32 (GW)

The hallow is to make holy; to set apart for holy use; to revere. (Holman Bible Dictionary).  Here’s a thought I never had before, God respects me.  This I’ve known – He created me for a purpose.  He wants me to choose Him.  He wants me to worship Him.  He loves me.

But respect [hallow, set apart] me?  To respect is to show deference, or acknowledge the perceived worth of a position, person, title, right or privilege  Despite my sins, mistakes, laziness, selfishness, self-centeredness, lack of respect for myself, God respects me.  He doesn’t just love me because He created me, He respects me.  He sees worth in me.  How can I not?

Thank you Lord, for these simple lessons.  Let us learn them well.

After a time of rest, it's time to resurrect this blog with a light on prayer and building our own personal prayer garden. A woman of faith, I want to share my personal insights into God and the Gospel in the hopes that these touch another heart, encouraging them to come to Christ.
