Feb 17 – Hope is … In the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

As I have struggled over the last several days, mainly with personal issues, I also struggled with where to go this year with this devotion site.  So many places, so many ways.  What I realized today was that I didn’t have the answer because I hadn’t asked God the question.  I was trying to figure out what I was supposed to do.  Will I ever learn that it does not work that way?  Do you have this same problem?

After I took the time to ask the question, my eyes fell on a book which gave me the answer, one day at a time in prayer.  Sometimes the topics will be big, like Hope, while others will probably be quite small.  All, I pray, will be blessed by God.

What is hope?  Hope, when used as a noun, is the feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turn out for the best.  When used as a verb it is to believe, desire, or trust.  (Definitions taken from www.dictionary.com).

Christ gives us hope.  Hope of eternity shared with Him

You have made known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand.          –Psalm 16:11 (NIV)

God gives us hope of His ever-presence.

God is King, robed and ruling,
God is robed and surging with strength.
And yes, the world is firm, immovable,
Your throne Ever firm—you’re Eternal!             –Psalm 93:1 (MSG)

The Spirit guides us to live a life to assure us our eternal place.

If they plant to satisfy their sinful selves,
their sinful selves will bring them ruin.
But if they plant to please the Spirit,
they will receive eternal life from the Spirit.      –Galatians 6:8 (NCV)

What a blessing it is to know that our triune God grants us the promise and assurance of Hope and the knowledge that He has always been, is always present, and always be with us.

Abba, our eternal hope comes because we know You are eternal. Our faith is strengthened because You have shared with us the knowledge that a better thing will come.

After a time of rest, it's time to resurrect this blog with a light on prayer and building our own personal prayer garden. A woman of faith, I want to share my personal insights into God and the Gospel in the hopes that these touch another heart, encouraging them to come to Christ.
