Mar 5 – Staying in step with God

But if we walk in the light,
as he is in the light,
we have fellowship with one another,
and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

What is the last decision you made?  Big or little?  Did you make the right decision?

If so, why?  How do you know it was the right one?  If not, what tells you now it was the wrong one?  What will you do differently next time?

We’re reminded in Joshua, we don’t have control.  We don’t know everything.  We should not assume how good we are or are ready we are or what is right.  That’s all for God to do.

The men of Israel sampled their provisions
but did not inquire of the LORD.
Then Joshua made a treaty of peace with them to let them live,
and the leaders of the assembly ratified it by oath.
Three days after they made the treaty with the Gibeonites,
the Israelites heard that they were neighbors, living near them. –Joshua 9:14-16

The Israelites forgot to check with God, twice. Once before going to war and they got spanked!  God basically told them, ‘Did I tell you to do that’?  The next time, they lost the opportunity for total control by believing a tribe of liars, lying to save themselves.  God made them slaves to the Israelites, water carriers and wood cutters.  It worked out for the Israel in the end, but not the way it would have gone had the checked with God first.  They would have known that the people were lying.

My prayer for all of us, that we keep God first in every decision we make so we make the right ones.

After a time of rest, it's time to resurrect this blog with a light on prayer and building our own personal prayer garden. A woman of faith, I want to share my personal insights into God and the Gospel in the hopes that these touch another heart, encouraging them to come to Christ.
