Mar 4 – Crossing a dry sea

‘Israel crossed the Jordan on dry ground.’
For the LORD your God dried up the Jordan
before you until you had crossed over.
The LORD your God did to the Jordan
just what he had done to the Red Sea
when he dried it up before us until we had crossed over.                –Joshua 4:22-23 (sel.)

Life is like a sea.  We have high tides and low ones.  Days filled with joy and with sorrow.  Sometimes, it gets to be too much and we feel like we are drowning in a flood.  In reality, when it feels like this, the truth is, we’re a dry river bed.  Cracked, bleeding, unable to sustain positive life.  To fill ourselves up.

And my God will liberally supply
( fill to the full) your every need
according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

God gives us Himself, His Son, His words, and His people.  He gives us brothers and sisters, family, friends, mentors, and strangers (you never know how one will touch you).  We are a prideful people.  Usually willing to be there for others, but too proud to let others be there for ourselves.  Let God take care of you, fill up your river, by being in community.  Turn to friends when you need to.  Cry.  Scream.  Yell at God.  It’s okay, He understands! And He wants you to communicate with Him.  Let God fill you up.

Lord, take this dry river bed and fill it with Your Holy Spirit so my day-to-day life is a flowing river where others can come and be blessed by You.

Let me tell you who I'm not. I'm not a Pastor or trained religious scholar. I have no degrees that declare me qualified; I have a God who makes it so. So, how can I write about Christ? How can I teach, preach, evangelize, share or testify? I am doing nothing more than answering a call from God. I am a woman of faith, a nobody, as a current song espouses, who wants to tell everybody about somebody. I want to share my personal insights into God and the Gospel, the Good New. I want to share the hope that is given to us and share the unbelievable gifts of grace, mercy and forgiveness that is given so freely with the birth, death, resurrection and acceptance of God's son, Jesus Christ.
